Post-Apocalyptic Hymnal

This is completely different from Flower Of Flesh And Bone, the previous Jak Locke album I reviewed. Composed, restrained, orchestrated blues-based tracks ranging from mellow rock to country with varying amounts and types of instruments including classical strings, accordion and piano well-used and placed. Unlike the last album, most of these tracks would work in a solo acoustic live setting. Several tracks have a Pink Floyd “The Wall” feel (not the sound) probably due to the subject matter. A couple of the tracks even have a bit of an Irish influence. Overall, a great listen showcasing a very different side of an extremely talented musician.
