UPDATES
September 9 2021
Hope you're liking the re-releases because heeere's another one; I like checking them off the list and knowing they're back up for people to hear. This time we're mood swinging with Afterimage Chaser, 10 lo-fi tracks from May 2000 that dip into the raucous, the sedate and the experimental. Check it out on Bandcamp.
August 4 2021
Time for another ancient re-release! Heavy Root was a lo-fi cassette demo from December 1999 focused on blues, folk and antifolk, a departure at the time for me after two punk releases from that summer and fall. It's young and raw and unhewn and you can hear it in all its unhewn raw youth on Bandcamp at your leisure.
July 13 2021
In October 2001, I was asked to compose and record an original score in a month for The Nicholls Players' production of the 1945 play "Dark of the Moon" -- incidental background music, intermission and inter-scene transitions. I did, and even got to play a tiny part as a musician in a couple of scenes! It was a great time all around. For the first time in almost 20 years, the score's able to be heard again. Catch it on Bandcamp as the latest re-release!
July 3 2021
After the Rock Show's triumphant win on Escape From The Secret Lab, Dr. Pinkerton activated the Zom-Beam he installed in the victory plaque -- the effects were sudden and devastating, though my chess game has never been better. This was filmed for part of the always excellent multimedia stage show at COG's 25th Anniversary concert yesterday. I found another pawn under the fridge this morning but I think that's all of them now.
June 29 2021
The grid view is now the default on the Music page, it only took 10 months of constantly toggling it on each time to find something for me to get the hint that it's better this way. (Not relevant if you're browsing on a mobile device or at less than 768px window res, y'all gotta scroll)
June 25 2021
Another digitization and polishing of the old stuff complete! Obelisk is a demo I made in early 1999 of alt rock and folk rock songs about betrayal and trying to move on, guess I was going through something. Now it's re-published and you can share in young me's blurry analog angst for a half hour or so!
April 20 2021
Angie Tusa and I are back guesting on the latest Ranking The Beatles podcast, talking this time about the Ringo-led number "Matchbox"! Hear what we think about it, rockabilly, and for some reason porridge, right here.

A 1998 demo from my band 200 Proof is now up on Bandcamp! It's a week for unearthing old releases. We recorded this one in a suffocatingly hot shed (pictured behind us) in 30 minutes because a club wanted a demo that day, "Anything is fine." Well that's what they got, and now so do you, muffed lyrics, botched parts and all.
February 23 2021
"Solitary" is a demo of 11 songs from March 1998 that was my first serious attempt at overdubbing multiple parts. Even cleaned up and remastered it's still really rough but if you're interested in a deep dive, it's reissued today on Bandcamp!
February 22 2021
"Dilate", a demo from my old band Paradox Prophecy we released near the end of 2000, is now touched up, relisted and up for streaming! Catch it on Bandcamp like usual.

WHAT'S COMING NEXT?
There aren't too many things that are lamer than someone going on about what they're "gonna do", like your friend who's gonna start writing that novel juuust as soon as the mood is right or whatever excuse feels good to them this week.

But hey, since you asked via seeing the headline of this section and then continuing to read, here's some projects that have more than just intent actually done on them:
music in progress

I'm working on a new album of bluesy oily sleazy vaudeville-y numbers, many of them the ones I made and played for burlesque and circus acts over the years.

Songs on this one include "Broken Joe", "Cirrhosis", "Pastel Currency", "Glass Medusa", "Narcissus Stomp" and "I Bet You I Can Tell You Where You Got Them Blues". Most of these are underway, though I'll be honest, it's going to be a while before heavy lifting's done on this one.

One-offs, micro-run releases and demos spanning from 1996 to 2008 are always being remixed and remastered for reissuing. There's a lot of them and I want you to hear them. Thing is, I only have copies of some of these releases on cassette tapes that sound like they spent a decade in a neutron star.

The good news
is that I keep everything, so I've got the master tracks and/or dub masters for everything... somewhere. As those original masters are located, organized, cleaned up and remixed, I'll rerelease them on Bandcamp and announce it on the site.

Currently in progress (free time permitting only, as these aren't a high priority) are Passive Blue (1999), Seed (2001), Laced (2002), Shut Off (2004) and various one-shots from late 2008. There are a lot more too, I just haven't gotten to / found them yet.

writing in progress
"Fish In Atlantis", the sequel to 2017's "The Junkyard Capital" is in slow but unsteady progress, about a third of the first draft is written. As I mentioned above, the more you talk about a book, the less you're actually going to finish it, sooo moving on

games in progress
The movement engine, the player sprite, the back story and some background graphics are finished for a 2-D platformer I've been working on since October 2017 in (microscopically) small bursts.

Its working title is "The Vats" and you can probably count on that to change, though I've been wrong before on things like that. There's a playable engine concept demo up for you to check out if you like.

A couple years back I made a simple game for the last phase of an escape room-themed Halloween party where the object was for two players to follow a path and reach the destination at the same time. While testing it I found it's also fun with one player using either two analog sticks or WASD + arrow keys.

I'm expanding it to a full game and kicking around some different mutations of the idea like adding rhythm aspects -- we'll see where it goes. A casual glance at the filename for the screenshot JPG will reveal that I have absolutely no inkling of a title in mind yet.
